Chip Technology

Introducing Chip Technology provided by Mastercard®

Your Quorum Mastercard® credit card is now enhanced with chip technology. This means, wherever you are in the world, you can enjoy greater security and peace of mind every time you use your card.

Enhanced Security

Improved fraud protection.

Chip cards contain an embedded microchip that holds encrypted information, making it extremely difficult for the card to be copied or counterfeited. Your transactions are also more secure because in order to authorize the transaction, you are required to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN), which only you should know.

Chip technology is the global standard in processing debit and credit card payments, with over 130 countries already using chip-enabled terminals. This technology will soon be standard in the U.S. as well, and Quorum is bringing it to you as a commitment to your security.

Your chip card will also have the usual magnetic stripe on the back so that you can continue using your card while merchants are transitioning to new chip-enabled terminals.

How it Works

How does my card work at a chip terminal?

STEP 1: Insert your card "chip first" into the chip-enabled reader on the terminal.

STEP 2: Follow the prompts on the terminal and wait for the transaction to be processed.
The card needs to remain in the terminal a little longer than you might be accustomed to in order to validate you and your card.

STEP 3: Remove your card after the transaction is approved and take your receipt.
